The Birth Of "Biker At Heart"
Growing up with a father that rode his motorbike at every opportunity, it was almost inevitable that I would come to absolutely love being a female biker. My father sat me on the tank of his motorcycle when I was only a little baby, the birth of my passion for owning and riding my own motorcycle was being kindled.
Growing up in Tenerife, I bought my very first motorbike (a 50cc Derby) at the age of 17, beginning my lifelong obsession.
Moving to England without my family and without passing my riding test, I became disillusioned, only having the opportunity to ride my 125cc motorcycle until my learner licence expired.
It was not until 10 years ago, after I had passed my full bike licence, that I realised how much I have wished to demonstrate to everyone that I am always a Biker At Heart. The vision for Biker At Heart started one sunny day in Swansea, when I volunteered for Blood Bikes at a local fire station. I saw a young child sit on a mini-bike, eagerly waiting for his parents to take a picture of him, and in his eyes I could recognise and empathise with his dream of becoming a biker.
From that day on, I too want to let the world know that I am a biker, even when I am driving my car, in a yacht or on a plane. The passionate, driven biker in me wants to let the world know I am proud to be a member of this incredible community.
